¿Ya han vuelto? Bien, entonces sigo.
El título de esta entrada hace referencia a una frase que aparece en el
comentario de Polinesio (autor, por su parte de la entretenida, pero últimamente poco habitada
Polinesia). Él hace referencia a dos problemas en el seno de la actual discusión sobre temas de política:
el recurso de la derecha a los prejuicios religiosos para construir su discurso político, y la tendencia de la izquierda más utópica al idealismo metafísico y a resolver las críticas construyendo el elitismo moral de los que "critican al poder" o los que tienen "conciencia social"
Del primero no tengo mayor interés en preocuparme ahora, no porque no sea un problema, sino porque es EL problema, sobre el que ya he hablado en otras ocasiones: cuando el PP hace caso más a su confesor que a su ideario neoliberal. Evito las autorreferencias a historias anteriores sobre temas de clonación, por ejemplo, o sobre el uso manipulador de los medios de comunicación en cualquier tema que toca la gestión del gobierno... (etcétera). Están por ahí entre las historias de esta bitácora. Y seguirán estando, porque siempre son más de lo mismo (escucho esta mañana en la radio a Javier Arenas comentar que su solución -la del gobierno del PP- para contrarrestar el sentimiento antibelicista que se desparrama por toda la sociedad española, va a ser una campaña de publicidad. Toma ya inversión inteligente del dinero público... Realmente de todas las posibilidades de actuación que se les abren a estos señoritos, gestores del Estado que siguen pensando que esto es su finca andaluza, siempre eligen la más bochornosa).
Del segundo, me ha llamado la atención, porque puede caracterizar un exceso del que me siento en algún modo cómplice: de ser de izquierdas, de caer en la utopía, acaso de construir un elitismo moral, y, así, de meterme de lleno en un
"idealismo metafísico". ¡Joder! Idealista y metafísico, así a la vez, conjuntadamente, suena algo terrible, despierta en el racionalista compulsivo que hay en este Pez un ataque sistémico casi como un shock anafiláctico. No sé si meterme dos chutas de Urbasón por si acaso esto va a peor...
Pero, dejando aparte la reacción orgánica, uno se pregunta si hay algo así realmente. Es decir, hasta qué punto los comentarios que he ido colocando por aquí (esta bitácora, como indica el resumen de contenidos, incorpora tanto mis artículos en prensa como otras divagaciones de estricta y única responsabilidad mía) configuran una especie de aullido al aire completamente inútil (por utópico) más que responder a la realidad. Con la probable falta de coherencia interna que se le puede achacar a cualquier postura de este tipo. Más aún, configurándose como parte de una élite de buenos para nada que sólo hablan para decir cosas más o menos bellas, pero impracticables y así. Ya, ya sé que no es eso exactamente lo que dice Polinesio, ni tampoco lo que comentaba Jmerelo en su entrada. Pero así voy yo estirando este tipo de caracterizaciones, viendo hacia dónde llegan.
Obviamente, no tengo el don para poder saber lo que está bien o lo que está mal, por encima de ningún otro, ni aparte de ningún otro tampoco. Es más, tampoco creo que sea preciso retrotaernos a una discusión sobre una ética natural o humanista más allá de lo preciso. Como paseante de este mundo, es decir, como ciudadano, me encuentro con situaciones en las que me incomoda serlo. Quiero decir, que como ciudadano, o como consumidor en ocasiones, como votante en otras, cuando uno asume al cabo del día todos esos papeles que representamos ante la realidad, siento que se está abusando de mis derechos, o tomándome por el pito de un sereno, cuando no intentando hurtarme el mínimo y elemental derecho a poder decir: "perdón... es que yo estoy aquí, y quería poder decir algo..."
Supongo que casi todos coincidirán (coincidiréis) conmigo en que, ciertamente, si uno está aquí y quiere, debe poder decir algo. Las veces que desee, de la manera que mejor le venga hacerlo, como pueda o como quiera, en definitiva. Entendiendo, además, que al hablar, se expone: se expone a que le lean, a que coincidan o no y, dadas las posibilidades de la blogosfera, que sea citado, comentado, o discutido.
Una vez establecido este criterio básico de la libertad de expresión y de la libertad de crítica, cabe un primer análisis: ¿por qué yo, -es lo que analizo en mi caso-, salto, chillo, ladro o comento ciertas cosas y no otras? No partiendo de un posicionamiento ético elitista (definitivamente no me veo mejor ni más guapo ni más alto ni más listo que los otros: aunque lo pueda ser, en el fondo eso lo dejo para mi regocijo personal) lo que me afecta debe tener que ver con un cierto posicionamiento ideológico. ¿Por qué me jode que quieran poner en la constitución europea una referencia a la tradición cristiana? Porque creo que la ciudadanía europea debe establecer su marco de convivencia en planteamientos radicalmente laicos. ¿Por qué creo que la postura belicista de ciertos gobiernos en el caso de la guerra "preventiva" contra Irak es errónea? Por un convencimiento sobre la inutilidad de los conflictos armados y por las nefastas consecuencias que sobre las poblaciones civiles, sobre los ciudadanos, tienen. ¿Por qué "nunca máis", por qué "basta ya"? Porque los movimientos ciudadanos son "justos y necesarios" especialmente cuando las políticas -de los partidos políticos- se pierden en cuestiones que no dan respuesta adecuada a problemas en los que los derechos humanos son vulnerados. Y etcétera. A mí no me cabe duda de que este tipo de planteamientos me coloca en lo que normalmente se denomina "izquierda". Quizá porque, como decía el filósofo Aranguren, la cualidad de lo que llamamos izquierda es su oposición a los abusos del poder. Del poder que sea, cuando abuse en lo que sea. Pero no sólo izquierda por oposición, sino también por vocación: los derechos humanos deben poder expresarse en políticas realmente solidarias con los que sufren ataques. Esto exige políticas igualitarias, de redistribución de la riqueza y el bienestar, de posibilidad de desarrollo personal y comunitario, especialmente discriminaciones positivas para ir deshaciendo un
statu quo desigual.
¿Utopía? ¿Idealismo metafísico? (O como comentaba J.L. Calvo, ¿visceralidad?)
Creo que no: una cosa es que uno tenga un planteamiento o ideología que le lleve a desear otro tipo de mundo (otra forma de globalización, otra forma de individualización, otras maneras de gobierno o de relaciones económicas entre las sociedades, etcétera etcétera) y otra que no se dé cuenta de que tal "programa" no se pueda hacer sin más o desde ahora. Además, estoy conencido de que las actuaciones tienen que venir desde abajo también, de los pequeños gestos de lo cotidiano, para que puedan realmente configurar una revolución (si es que a tal acúmulo se llega que lo permita). De esta manera, posicionarse ahora sobre lo que ahora sucede no es ni utópico ni idealista, sino parte del compromiso de este Pez.
Un segundo análisis, de los muchos posibles, debería establecer si hay coherencia -en cuanto a una estructura acorde a los fines pretendidos sin fisuras- en las críticas o posicionamientos de que participo. Ahí sé que suspendo más claramente. Podía justificarme aduciendo que la coherencia no es necesariamente una virtud -especialmente cuando coherencia y tozudez se solapan en pro de una causa injusta- ni es siempre lo más necesario, pero a mí también me chirrían estas excusas. Es cierto: esta semana me pide el cuerpo irme de escudo humano a Irak. Creo que sería lo más honrado, lo que debería hacer: pero también me acojona, además me parte por la mitad y queda fuera de mis posibilidades reales (las que me permiten una acomodada y burguesa diletancia, claro...) También estoy convencido de que, cada uno en su campo diario, puede actuar en muchas escalas diferentes. Quizá, me consolaría, hasta estos mismos espacios un tanto egóricos de opinión en una pequeña bitácora en el Oriente de internet, pueden ser pequeños pasos útiles. Ayer recibí un par de llamadas agradeciéndome la columna en el periódico que está justo debajo de esta entrada: no eran de gente de las ONGs convocantes de la campaña (
Amnistía Internacional,
Greenpeace,
Intermón Oxfam y
Médicos sin Fronteras), sino gente que más o menos me conoce y que se había sentido llamada a colaborar con ella al haberme leído. Me agrada saberlo, no me parece, sin embargo, suficiente.
Finalmente (ando pillado de tiempo, además de haberme extendido más allá de lo razonable) aunque entiendo que todo lo que he comentado sea perfectamente criticable (no hace falta una profunda exégesis para encontrar las zonas anudadas a mano, las que quedan colgando o las que se están cayendo -en cuanto a edificio ideológico) me parece que responde en cierto modo a esas críticas a las que me refería al principio. Incluso aunque no fueran dirigidas especialmente hacia mí.
En lo más concreto, en lo de hoy mismo, sigo razonablemenrte convencido de que por muy dictador que sea Sadam (que lo es), por mucho que pueda acumular armas de destrucción masiva (que lo ha hecho, que lo intenta, hasta igual lo está consiguiendo), por más que esté conectado con el terrorismo internacional (obviamente no sólo él sino muchos otros que quedan por el momento exentos al fijarse todas las miras telescópias en Irak), el ataque en la manera en que EEUU propone no va a ser una solución mínimamente aceptable. Y si tenemos la ONU, hemos de velar por que trabaje. Y si tenemos un gobierno que ha decidido que, dentro de sus atribuciones, está el posicionarse como lo ha hecho, con absoluto desprecio de las voces de los otros partidos políticos con representación parlamentaria, y de muchos colectivos ciudadanos más o menos representativos, más o menos numerosos o más o menos conocidos, creo que es mi deber, el de Javier Armentia, decir, siempre que pueda que no, Señor Aznar, que aquí este Pez está en contra de la guerra.
